Mezcal Legendario Domingo Espadin Joven (Oaxaca)

Founded in 2012 by Julian Saenger, Legendario Domingo celebrates Mexico’s mezcal heritage through artisanal production and regional expression. This bottling comes from San Luis del Río, Oaxaca, crafted by the Velasco family with respect for tradition and terroir.

Espadín agaves are slow-roasted in underground conical ovens fueled by fallen Tepehuaje and Sabino wood, then crushed by horse-drawn tahona and naturally fermented in open pine vats with spring water and indigenous yeasts. Double distillation in copper stills yields a mezcal that highlights the purity of the maguey and its environment.

The result is bright and expressive, with fresh citrus and mineral notes layered over gentle smokiness and ripe Oaxacan fruit. Smooth, balanced, and deeply tied to place, it exemplifies the elegance of artisanal mezcal.
